The best family friendly events this August Bank Holiday 2019
Make the most of what’s left of summer with a family day out this long August Bank Holiday weekend
The summer holidays are drawing to a close so make the most of the last few summer days by taking the children for a day out. Luckily there are some great family friendly events lined up and the theme this long weekend seems to be traditional family fun.
For a weekend of traditional games and family entertainment, take your children to Tatton Park’s Traditional Country Weekend and let them have a go at egg & spoon races, tug-of-war and much more. Travel even further back in time to the medieval atmosphere of Warrior Weekend at a real castle in Cheshire. And if that gives you the taste for castles check out our guide to the 7 best castles within easy reach for a family visit.
There’s more traditional family fun in Wales at the Cilcain Show including Punch & Judy and a fancy dress parade. If you’re in Manchester, head down to the Flixton Festival for a range of family friendly activities, stalls and live music. Finally, for the chance to raise money for a great cause, take the kids to Wirral for the Hoylake Lifeboat Day – it’s free!
