Catalyst Science Discovery Centre’s Scientriffic Gallery has over 40 interactive exhibits and hand-on science and technology displays. Generate electricity, discover colourful crystals or make big bubbles. Take part in family events, see science shows and enjoy free workshops for kids at weekends and in the holidays. Visit the glass observatory on the roof-top.

Jodrell Bank with its famous huge white telescope is one of the best places to take kids for a science-themed day out. The interactive exhibits are very child-friendly with lots of opportunities to turn dials and push buttons. During school holidays there are additional activities including science shows and sessions aimed at the under 7s. Outdoors there are 35 acres of gardens including outdoor exhibits, play area and a trail. The cafe has a great view of the Lovell Telescope.
Lion Salt Works Museum
Go Wild! Nature will come to life when children make their own decorations inspired by the butterflies and nature of the Lion Salt Works Museum.
Activities take place between 10.30 – 1pm and 2pm – 4.30pm. Suggested £1.50 donation. Free parking, play area, café and shop.
