Drama classes for 3-16 year olds
With over 5 years of teaching drama to children, we at Marmalade believe passionately that one of the greatest gifts in life is to be able to explore yourself and the world through stories and that drama is essential for a child’s human development.
In the early years, drama improves understanding of language, communication and broadens imagination. It encourages children to collaborate and to be sensitive to the needs of a group.
Each of our classes is designed and tailored to suit the particular developing needs of the specific age group. In the younger years; classes consist of games, role-play, dressing up, story telling and improvisation. From the age of 7, our students start to work on acting skills, exploring texts as well as devising, singing, dancing and showcases.
5 reasons why drama is important:
Increases empathy and allows you to see things from different points of view.
Provides a space where you learn to be bold, take risks and try ideas out. We passionately believe that your child should not fear being wrong but embrace trying ideas instead.
Promotes discovery and curiosity.
Encourages you to use intuition.
