Fifteen fab ideas for free outdoor fun

School holidays can be an expensive time for parents especially if you’re keen on getting your children outdoors and doing something active.  Why is it that everywhere your children want to go costs money?

There are lots of family-friendly places to go in Cheshire, Manchester, Liverpool & Wirral, and Wrexham & Flintshire and many of them are free or low cost.  But sometimes you just want to do something simple, outdoors, without having to go too far or spend too much money.

So here are fifteen suggestions for simple outdoor fun activities your kids can do today which require no expense, no particular preparation and no special equipment …

  1. go for a bike ride
  2. play a ball game in the park
  3. pack a picnic
  4. take a woodland walk
  5. make sandcastles on a beach
  6. explore a nature reserve
  7. feed the ducks
  8. fly a kite
  9. try geocaching
  10. play hide and seek
