Why Clubs & Classes Can Be Good For Your Child

The new term is starting so now is a great time to think about enrolling your child in a new club. But why bother, they already do lots at school don’t they? Or maybe your child is still very little and you don’t see the point. In fact, a well-run after school club or pre-school class can really enrich your child’s life in many ways.

For a start it’s not school or home. The atmosphere and culture will be different. Being introduced to another way of doing things will help them develop flexibility and cope with new situations later in life.

Would your child like to make new friends?  Toddlers and preschoolers can learn to interact with other children and develop their social skills ready for school. Children already at school can find it refreshing to get away from the usual crowd and make new friends with shared interests.

Can your child swim yet? Learning to swim is not just good exercise but could be a life saver!

Could your child do with a confidence boost? Some kids are shy and not all children are naturally academic. Maybe mixing with other children, finding a hobby they love or the chance to do well at sport will give them their opportunity to shine.

Is your child bored? Do they need inspiring or  “stretching? Clubs offer the opportunity to try something new – art, karate, theatre make-up, horse riding, first aid, drumming, golf, Chinese, yoga – the range is amazing and they can start most things at almost any age or ability. Give them the chance to find “their thing”.

Are you at home with a toddler and you could both do with getting out and meeting other parents and children? Enrolling in a weekly class now will really help when Autumn closes in.

There are so many ways your child could benefit socially and physically. Luckily there are 100s of great clubs and classes for your child to enjoy.
